Methacrylic Acid Copolymer L-100 (Type A) is an anionic copolymer of methacrylic acid and methyl methacrylate in a 1:1 ratio. It is insoluble in gastric fluid and dissolves above pH 6.0.
It is used for enteric and delayed-release coatings that target release in the jejunum, and can be applied from organic solvents or as a partially neutralised aqueous dispersion.
