Methacrylic Acid Copolymer L-100-55 (Type C) is an anionic copolymer of methacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate in a 1:1 ratio. It resists gastric fluid and dissolves above pH 5.5.
It is the standard choice for enteric coatings that release in the duodenum, and can be redispersed in water with partial neutralisation for aqueous coating.
